Prayer

Salah or prayer, is an obligation (fard) in Islam. This means that Muslims must pray 5 prayers throughout the day.These are:

  • Salat al-fajr – the dawn or any time before sunrise.
  • Salat al-zuhr: – midday, after the sun passes its highest.
  • Salat al-‘asr – the late part of the afternoon.
  • Salat al-maghrib – dusk or just after sunset.
  • Salat al-‘isha – between sunset and midnight.

To make sure you never miss your prayer, our website gives you up-to-date daily pray times for the city of Birmingham at the top of your screen! At the time of prayer, both men and women are welcome to pray in separate prayer spaces.

The Messenger PBUH came to us and said;

The most virtuous prayer of yours is in your homes, except for the obligatory.
